Today we celebrate Indonesia’s 63th birthday. And just yesterday two of our badminton athletes just gave us one of the best birthday gifts: a gold medal on the Olympics. Congratulations to them!

I loooove the concept. Usually Indonesian ads are very cheesy and they cant resist overplacing the product, maybe due to advertising costs. This is very subtle, which is rare, Indonesian ads need more subtlety!

I don’t know whether this ad is an official ad, but the director (Susanto Widjaja) submitted it for a short commercial competition at the film screening for “3 Hari Untuk Selamanya” and they won. I borrowed the credits from jackkk82, which I think IS the director for the commercial huhu.. Mas, kalo liat post-nya, selamat yah udah menang kompetisinya. ^^

I Believe I Can Fly
Daniel Hartono, project manager of Asian Idol, revealed during a press conference that Mohede received the highest amount of actual votes at approximately one million in total. However, because of the show’s voting process where 50% of votes per country goes to the second option Idol, Mohede’s votes were slashed by half and total percentages of votes from other participating countries were added. Hady, meanwhile, got the highest number of “second option votes”. In total, Hady got 115% while Mohede is in second place with 111% and Victor got the lowest amount of votes. The rankings of other contestants were not revealed.

Pastinya yang namanya milik Indonesia bukan hanya kebudayaan tradisional, tapi juga yang bisa kita banggain adalah karya-karya seni “kontemporer”-nya. Seperti karya-karyanya pelawak favorit kita semua doonk, Warkop DKI. Post ini adalah tribute untuk kedua almarhum Dono dan Kasino serta tentu saja mas Indro yang sampai sekarang masih berkarya. Salut untuk Warkop DKI!!!
Gua suka banget daerah blok m-lamandau-mahakam. Itu karena gua dulu sekolah di daerah situ jadi kayaknya homey banget. Makanannya juga enak-enak.
Ada yang masih gua suka banget sampai sekarang, yaitu Gulai Tikungan (Gultik). Jadi kalo lo dari arah 70 mau ke blok M Plaza, kalo belok ke kanan ke Mahakam, belok kiri ke 6 kan ada bunderan tuh (sekarang ada patung tangan megang kartu Simpati kalo gak salah tepat di tengah-tengah bunderan). Nah itu ada sederetan penjual Gulai. Tepat di tikungan Mahakam. Buka 24 jam loh.

JAKARTA–MIOL: Para siswa pemenang Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) di China, diusulkan akan mendapat anugerah Satya Lencana Wirakarya, suatu anugerah negara yang akan diberikan presiden kepada siswa berprestasi.
“Tentu tidak hanya siswa Tim Olimpiade Fisika Indonesia (TOFI) yang menang kali ini, tetapi juga para pemenang lainnya dari Tim Olimpiade lainnya, seperti Matematika dan Biologi,” kata Kepala Pusat Informasi dan Humas Depdiknas, Bambang Wasito Adi di Jakarta, Senin.
Pihaknya juga mengusulkan anugerah tersebut juga bisa diberikan kepada semua siswa berprestasi, dari tingkat SD, SMP, SMA, dan mahasiswa yang memenangkan berbagai lomba di tingkat dunia, termasuk di bidang seni dan olah raga.

Dari dulu, tempe itu produk Indonesia (yes, Indonesian) yang paling gikin gue bangga. Gila ini makanan 200 juta++ umat. Tempe mendoan, tempe bacem, tempe goreng biasa sampe sambel tempe. Whether you’re broke or rich, you know you love your tempe.
I’d have sambel tempe every weekend, we’d have this huge-ass cobek, and this smell. This smell of onion and chili and tempe and how they mix together, i say its beautiful.

Well up there is the much much fancier version, kind of like, the almost gourmet version, I prefer them in cobeks. Big ones.
Mulailah dari buat sambel, terus pake tomat yang banyak. Sambel itu terdiri dari cabe, garam, gula, bawang merah, bawang putih. Ingat ya, bawang merah dan tomat harus banyak. Kalau mau pakai terasi, dikit aja yah tapi. Gua suka sambel mentah, tapi kalo lo suka sambel mateng ya terserah. Ada yang suka pake kemangi, gua sih engak terlalu. Lalu, goreng tempenya. Lalu, masukkan tempe ke dalam sambel. Makanya di cobek yang besar buatnya. Terus diulek tempenya, jangan sampe alus, kita bukan buat bubur tempe. Yah kira-kira sampai agak blend saja.
Lalu, enjoy! Enak bersama nasi anget yang pas matengnya. Haha.
